August 15, 2023
HARRISBURG – Rep. JoAnne Stehr (R-Northumberland/Schuylkill) is teaming up with the Northumberland County Council for the Arts and Humanities to sponsor a six-week course about the U.S. Constitution.
The free course, provided by the Patriot Academy, offers citizens the opportunity to learn more about the nation’s founding documents and how to ensure the freedoms outlined there are preserved for future generations.
“As citizens of this great nation, we have a responsibility to nurture and protect the freedoms we enjoy as Americans,” Stehr said. “Every day we live as free people is because of the work of our Founding Fathers. I encourage people to take advantage of this great opportunity to learn more about our Constitution and our nation’s history.”
The six-week course begins Thursday, Sept. 7, and will be held each Thursday thereafter through Thursday, Oct. 12. The classes run from 6-8 p.m. and will be held at Northumberland County CareerLink, located at 2 E. Arch St. in Shamokin.
The course is free, but registration is required by calling Stehr’s office at 570-648-8017 or signing up online at RepStehrevents.com.
